Since March, a quaint home turned into a business has been getting a ton of press, but not for its design: This business is a cafe that employs former foster kids who have aged out of the system and often have a hard time finding […]
If there’s one thing I’m grateful for in 2019, it is how negative sentiments around female friendships are well and truly on their way out. In the past, we’ve all heard people say cringe-worthy things like “I just get along better with guys because being […]
Back when I was in college, a friend of mine’s signature dish was Pasta Greco, an easy-to-make Greek-inspired pasta dish that was adapted from a local restaurant we worked at.
Now that I have a little more experience in making recipe’s my own, I’ve been wanting to upgrade the Pasta Greco into something slightly more impressive and flavorful, but still keep it easy. The key? Making it a One Pot Pasta dish. (more…)
When I stopped judging my friends, I started really enjoying my life. We’ve all done it, right? We’ve looked at the people we care the most about and thought “wtf!” Guilty. I’m also guilty of sharing those feelings with others, I think they call it […]
Achieving a healthy work-life balance seems like a consistent challenge. With the ability to be connected to your job at any moment (hello, email notifications!) it feels like the line between work and life is becoming more and more blurred.
For me, having time separate from work to spend time with friends, family and even work on my own passion projects are essential to my happiness. Going into college, it almost felt like a competition for who could meet the most people. Everyone was hungry to go outside their usual friend group and make new connections – myself included. I kind of had my core people and that was it. But the older I got, even that core group of people started to thin out. And now that I’m 25, well, let’s just say the group has really thinned down. I’m lucky to have my core group – about 8-10 people, here in Dallas, that are my ride or die peeps. (more…)
